Last month, Cunard sent its newest vessel Queen Elizabeth for its first regular drydock in Hamburg for routine maintenance and for upgrades to be installed and fitted.
Over two weeks, nine new single staterooms were added, with more than 25,000 square metres of new carpeting laid. In addition, more than 3,000 mattresses were replaced, 1,200 flat screen TVs were installed, new awnings on the sun decks added, re-modelling of the Lido restaurant and Royal Arcade shopping area, and on the technical side, replacement of a 65 tonne alternator.
Cunard has produced this time lapse video showcasing the works carried out.
