TD breaking news – Etihad launches loyalty partnership with flybuys

Coles flybuys program to offer reciprocal earning with Etihad Guest.

Etihad Airways has just announced a new loyalty partnership with the Coles flybuys scheme, enabling members to “turn everyday shopping into international flights”.

Under the pact flybuys members will be able to collect flybuys points when booking Etihad Airways tickets, and in what’s being described as a world first, will also earn Etihad Guest Tier Miles when they make purchases at any Coles supermarket or the retailer’s other brands including Liquorland and First Choice Liquor stores nationwide.

Tier miles count towards elite Etihad Guest status, with top level members receiving benefits such as prioritycheck-in and airport lounge access when travelling with EY and its partner carriers.

Flybuys members will also be able to convert their points into Etihad Guest miles under the arrangement.

“The launch today of the partnership with flybuys is exciting news for millions of flybuys members,” said Etihad chief commercial officer, Peter Baumgartner.

“Now they will be able to turn their weekly shopping at Coles and other selected stores into travel to exciting destinations worldwide,” he said.
