Emirates responds to rising fuel prices.
Dubai-based carrier Emirates has just announced it will be re-introducing fuel (Q) surcharges from 01 Mar 2012 to all destinations, except New Zealand.
A surcharge of US$15 one way will apply to Economy Class fares to destinations in Africa/Americas/Europe/South Asia Subcontinent & Indian Ocean, while a US$55 one way surcharge will apply to Business Class fares.
A US$10 fuel surcharge will also apply to Economy Class fares to Asia/Columbo/Middle East, and US$45 on Business Class fares.
Emirates removed its previous fuel surcharges in May last year.
Furthermore, Emirates says it will be increasing airfares to all destinations (except New Zealand), across all classes, ranging from AU$30 to AU$300, effective 07 Mar 2012.
Changes will see all EK Economy Class fares hiked AU$50, Business Class fares raised AU$200 and all First Class fares increased by AU$300.
Fares to Asia are slightly lower, at AU$30, AU$150 and AU$250 respectively.
