NEWCASTLE Airport is celebrating a 12.7% year-on-year jump in passenger movements for the month of Jan with 108,606 people arriving and departing the terminal over the 31 days. "For an airport to have double-digit growth in this climate is almost unheard of; most airports are sitting at domestic growth of around 2-3 per cent," Newcastle Airport boss Peter Cock said. It comes on the back of the airport smashing records to welcome 1.2 million pax in 2016.
