THE 'Best Discount' domestic airfares in Australia have returned to normal levels in Oct following a massive 20% spike last month. According to the govt's latest Domestic Air Fare Index (which based Jul 2003 as 100) released today, the cheapest fares now sit at a level of 62.5, comparable to 62.1 in Oct last year. The level is a big dip from Sep 2016 when the index was 74.1. Business & Restricted Economy index levels were flat compared to last month.
