Aircalin returning to MEL

Aircalin is preparing to launch services to Melbourne, reviving the carrier’s original Australian route from New Caledonia. Travel Daily can reveal Aircalin will introduce twice weekly direct services from Noumea starting 06 Jun, with services jacked up to thrice weekly over the 2014/15 summer peak season. Confirming arrangements, gm Australia, New Zealand & Fiji Ken Triffitt said the addition of the Victorian capital as the carrier’s third Australian hub reflected SB’s commitment to the local market.
