airberlin drops out of EU airline group

AIRBERLIN has terminated its membership of the Association of European Airlines, with new ceo Stefan Pichler saying there’s “no future in a protectionist aviation policy in Europe”. He said the organisation is not fulfilling ideals of liberalisation to benefit passengers, but is rather “allowing itself to be driven by airlines which desperately try to erect a new wall around Europe”. Pichler said airberlin, which is the continent’s second largest airline, would continue to be involved in aviation policy ...
