Finance Manager

Position Summary

The Finance Manager is answerable to the Chief Financial Officer of World Aviation Group.  The incumbent is responsible to manage and interpret financial information. The finance manager engages in financial analysis in such areas as forecasting, budgeting, engaging in cost reduction analysis, and reviewing operational performance. The incumbent also needs to ensure that an adequate control structure is in place over the transfer and investment of funds.

 

Responsibilities

Manage the Company’s financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems;

Continuously review the accounting processes to identify areas of improvement;

Assist in the preparation of the Company’s budget;

Report to management on variances from the established budget, and the reasons for those variances;

Assist management in the formulation of its overall strategic direction;

Assist management in the formulation of strategic and long-term business plans;

Produce accurate financial reports in accordance with IFRS and to specific deadlines;

Engage in ongoing cost reduction analyses in all areas of the company;

Engage in benchmarking studies to establish areas of potential operational improvement;

Assist the CFO in conducting reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities;

Interpret the company’s financial results to management and recommend improvement activities;

Compile key business metrics and report on them to management

Monitor and interpret cash flows and predict future trends;

Liaise with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out;

Develop external relationships with appropriate contacts, such as auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory organisations such as the Inland Revenue Department;

Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation.

To perform any other task as assigned by Management.

Have hands on experience over the use of Microsoft Office packages like Word, Excel and

PowerPoint

Have excellent data analysis skills

Have experience of preparing annual reports

Experience of Oracle Financials, Shireburn Finance Manager and Shireburn Payroll System would be an asset
