Director of Sales Australia


Reporting to the Regional Director, Australia & New Zealand, responsible for the development, planning and implementation of the sales strategy in Australia to achieve maximum revenue growth and increased market share.

Strategically and continuously review and develop the sales and distribution strategies in collaboration with applicable departments with a view to increasing market share and concurrently seizing potential opportunities for enhancing revenue and yield by adopting best sales working practices.

Monitor performance data and KPIs pertaining to sales & revenue performance and trends. Investigate reasons for changes and disseminate to the sales team ensuring they are focused on the business objectives that optimize the company’s profitability at any given time.

Provide adequate and timely feedback on achievements, deficiencies, market trends and challenges together with recommendations and insights on issues in order to support the decision making process to drive incremental sales and protect the overall interest and the profitability of the airline.

Build and maintain relationships with travel agency partners, commercial organisations and corporate customers to ensure Hawaiian is effectively promoted and that gaps and business opportunities are closed successfully.

Drive incremental sales through new revenue streams.

Lead and develop a high powered group of sales professionals through best practice sharing, leveraging of talents & skillsets and targeted training to ensure the sales team is a competitive differentiator.

Guide and monitor the day to day sales activities to ensure optimal performance of the team and smooth flow of business.

Support Hawaiian’s effective participation in airline specific events, seminars, roadshows and functions demonstrating a commitment to the market and maximum awareness strategy of the product and fare offerings.

Create and manage the sales and promotional budgets that allow the company to maximise market awareness of its offerings whilst concurrently achieving a strong ROI.

Collaborate with key departmental stakeholders and support their business objectives that form the broader commercial strategy for Australia.

Ensure the strategic collaboration is complimentary and seamless through the elimination of departmental silos. 


Key Requirements

Extensive sales management experience within an airline or travel related company with at least 5 years’ experience.

Proven success with the development of a robust, efficient and productive sales team including strong understanding of reservation operations within a GSA.

Demonstrated experience in the creation, development and execution of both indirect and direct sales programs supported by associated business strategies.

Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Australia and New Zealand travel industry.
