WORLD EXPEDITIONS LAUNCHES NEW TREK ON DOMINICA’S WAITUKUBULI TRAIL
Australian adventure holiday specialist, World Expeditions, is the first Australian operator to offer commercially the Waitukubuli National Trail in Dominica, the first and only long-distance walking trail in the Caribbean.
Known as ‘The Nature Island’, Dominica’s 183 km long trail crosses the entire island, starting from the southern fishing village of Scott’s Head to the scenic Cabrits National Park on the northern end of the island. The trail was launched last year and, until now, was not available commercially.
Along the way, hikers encounter a varied canvas of contrasting landscapes, from rugged mountains, virgin rainforests and dramatic gorges to spectacular waterfalls, coastal cliffs and even old sugar plantations.
According to Sue Badyari, CEO at World Expeditions, Trek the Waitukubuli Trail Dominica is one of the most exciting itineraries to be launched this year.
“Dominica offers the ultimate alternative Caribbean escape with spectacular trekking through breathtaking scenery and wild nature,” Ms Badyari says. “It’s a very pretty and rewarding walk that has the potential to be on every hiker’s wish list.”
The 12 day Trek the Waitukubuli Trail in Dominica departs Roseau on 6 October, 17 November and 29 December 2013 and costs $3,490 per person.
The new trip was launched to co-incide with the release of World Expeditions’ new Americas brochure. Other cutting edge trips in the brochure include the Inca Trail and Jungle Adventure, a Canadian Rockies introductory mountaineering course and the new Hawaii Hiking the Aloha Isles.
