APT makes South America a big destination for small group discovery
7 May 2013: APT’s new South America 2014 brochure features 12 itineraries, all of which have been specifically designed for small groups of up to 28 passengers.
Commenting on the decision to continue with smaller group sizes, APT General Manager Marketing, Debra Fox said the wow-factor destination lent itself to discovery, which is heightened with small group tours.
“Making the groups more intimate means passengers enjoy a very close affinity with the country and its people as well as with their tour director, expert guides and fellow travellers,” she said.
APT’s renowned all-inclusive small group luxury touring to South America comprises expertly planned itineraries that range from 20 to 36 days, with the 20-day Best of South America tour (from $11,295 per person twin share) forming the core to most. Brochure highlights include luxury cruising on the Amazon (on Delfin II), Galapagos Islands (on new ship MV Eclipse), the Patagonian Lakes and Antarctica (on new all-suite expedition ship Sea Explorer) as well as two rail journeys – the Vistadome train to Machu Picchu with glass domed rooftop and panoramic windows and the Andean Explorer from Cusco to Lake Titicaca.
APT has added Alvear Palace in Buenos Aires, Orient Express Copacabana Palace in Rio de Janeiro, Grand Hyatt in Santiago and Tierra Patagonia in Torres Del Paine National Park to its list of luxury hotels.
SuperDeals being offered by APT for 2014 include a companion fly free deal, including air taxes, and a business class airfare from $4,995 per person to join one of its tours next year, if booked by 31 August 2013.
All journeys feature APT’s acclaimed Freedom of Choice sightseeing and dining, APT Tour Director and local guides, meals, accommodation, local arrival and departure transfers, tipping and port charges, as well as all internal flights.
APT offers a guaranteed price, providing travel agents a peace of mind when selling this unique product.
The brochure invites travellers to immerse themselves in the local culture through activities like a tango show in Buenos Aires, the coffee house Café Tortoni, visiting a local school near Puno (Lake Titicaca) as well as a Peruvian family for a home hosted lunch in Sacred Valley, the Inca ruins, the reed islands in Lake Titicaca including lunch on the Copachica Peninsula, wine tasting in the Casablanca Valley and lunch and tour in Valparaiso, the UNESCO heritage listed port town near Santiago. This latter experience is new for 2014.
