More choices in APT’s small group Russia
An extra day in Moscow, new river cruises combined with the luxury Golden Eagle Trans-Siberian Express train, more Freedom of Choice options, new Signature Experiences and a focus on small group shore excursions herald the arrival of APT’s 2013 Russia River Cruising brochure.
The 82-page brochure carries a choice of 12 itineraries, covering Russian river cruising, train journeys and a combination of them both as well as links to Scandinavia and Baltic tours and APT’s Magnificent Europe cruise between Amsterdam and Budapest.
New holidays are the 34-day Trans-Siberian & Magnificent Europe (from $23,995 per person, twin share) on a Vladivostok-Moscow-Budapest-Amsterdam itinerary and the 28-day Cruising & Trans-Siberian (from $21,695) on St Petersburg-Moscow-Vladivostok itinerary, with the option to add a pre cruise extension in Helsinki or Scandinavia.
The brochure highlights the all-inclusive structure of the tours and cruises, “with no hidden costs” (all gratuities and airport transfers included for example), as well as the average 30 passengers on shore excursions, dedicated Cruise Director plus an expert local guide team of six, onboard doctor and medical facilities, spacious and stylish staterooms and Front Deck Alfresco Viennese Café.
Not forgetting APT’s exclusive access to the legendary Golden Eagle and cruise ship MS AmaKatarina, adds APT General Manager Marketing, Debra Fox.
“Russia is a historically and socially rich encounter, which we can present in style with our train and river ship,” she said.
APT has a majority interest in Golden Eagle Luxury Trains which has an exclusive lease on the famous Golden Eagle train, Russia’s only private luxury train which has become synonymous with the world’s most iconic rail journey.
The 212-passenger, four-deck, two-restaurant ms AmaKatarina (co-owned by APT with AmaWaterways) boasts the most spacious accommodation on Russia’s waterways and is the first of its kind to introduce Outside Balconies, which are a feature of over 70% of staterooms.
Superdeals in the brochure range from free return flights, companion fly free and air credits of up to $1000 per person for bookings made before November 30, 2012.
With the extra day in Moscow (staying one night in the heart of Moscow at the luxurious Hotel Baltschug Kempinksi), the lead-in tour is now the 13-day Russian Waterways priced from $6795 per person, twin share, which includes 11-night cruise, 33 meals, wine and beer with dinner, sightseeing excursions, tipping and transfers.
The cruise between St Petersburg and Moscow is along the Volga, Svir and Neva rivers, exploring the forested islands, vast lakes and lifestyles of rural Russia, including visiting a home for traditional Russian pastries.
In Moscow, a new Freedom of Choice activity is “Moscow by Night” or the Moscow Circus.
