Coral Princess Cruises release new 2012 PNG and Melanesia brochure
Australia and the South Pacific’s pioneer of small-ship expedition cruising Coral Princess Cruises has released their new Papua New Guinea and Melanesia brochure, featuring exotic itineraries aboard their state-of-the-art small ship Oceanic Discoverer to some of the South Pacific’s most intriguing and rarely visited destinations.
A highlight of the 2012 program is the special ‘Victories in the Pacific’ Melanesia expedition, commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the legendary World War II battles between Allied forces and the Japanese invaders. The 13-night expedition – which departs on 4th March 2012 from Noumea in New Caledonia – takes in the key battlefields of New Caledonia, Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea. Highlights include visits to Million Dollar Point in Vanuatu, the opportunity to tour the legendary battlefields of Guadalcanal (Solomon Islands), Kennedy Island and Torokina on the island of Bougainville. Richard Frank, noted author, US military historian and consultant to the acclaimed Steven Spielberg / Tom Hanks mini series ‘The Pacific’ will lead the expedition, accompanied by Australia’s very own military expert and noted author Mat McLachlan.
Prices for the 13-night ‘Victories in the Pacific’ expedition start at $10,990 per person in a Main Deck (Category B) Stateroom.
The new brochure also features 10 and 12 night expeditions into the wilds of Papua New Guinea, a destination ideally suited to small-ship expedition cruising. Amongst many highlights, Coral Princess guests will experience the Trobriands – otherwise known as the ‘Islands of Love’, hike the David Suzuki Wildlife Trail at Lababia and snorkel and SCUBA dive over some of the world’s most pristine coral reefs around Kimbe Bay. Aboard Oceanic Discoverer, Coral Princess guests will exclusively cruise well up the mighty Sepik River, visiting remote communities famous for their artisans and woodcarvers.
To launch the new brochure, Coral Princess Cruises is offering 15% discounts on 10 & 12-night Papua New Guinea and 15-night Melanesia expeditions departing on 3, 15 & 28 November 2011 aboard Oceanic Discoverer. The 12-night PNG itinerary is priced from $7,522.50 per person and the 15-night Melanesia itinerary is priced from $9,520 per person.
As part of the special offer on November 2011 departures, single travellers will be able to avoid the dreaded “single supplement” when they join Coral Princess Cruises in Papua New Guinea or Melanesia, a saving of up to $6,325.
The discounts apply to all new bookings on selected departures and are available until 10 October 2011 or until sold out.
