Tempo Holidays has launched its India & Sri Lanka 2013/14 brochure featuring new small group tours for the first time, a range of River Ganges cruises, adventure tours and earlybird discounts.
The 44-page brochure, which also takes in Bhutan, Maldives and Nepal, features more than 50 small group and independent tours including rail journeys, a fascinating tour by vintage car, yoga regeneration packages, cooking schools and surfing safaris.
“Tempo Holidays has drawn on the resources of the Cox & Kings group to offer a selection of affordable escorted small group journeys for travellers who prefer to share their Indian experience with others,” Tempo India product manager John Saporito said.
“Our small group tours operate with a maximum of 25 guests, fostering an intimate and personal atmosphere which larger coach tours may lack. You can stop for impromptu photo sessions, forge a stronger connection with your guide and fellow passengers, and gain a more detailed understanding of local cultures and traditions.”
New small group tours include the 7-day Classical India which explores the most famous sites of the Golden Triangle including imperial Delhi, the Taj Mahal and the fascinating Rajasthani capital Jaipur from $679* per person twin share – including a 10% earlybird discount when booked by September 30.
The discount also applies to the new 13-day Classical Rajasthan roundtrip from Delhi which visits Mandawa, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Udaipur and Jaipur from $1164* per person twin share.
Both tours offer guaranteed departures with no minimum numbers.
Small group tours have also been introduced in Sri Lanka including the 13-day Sri Lanka, the Enchanted Island from Colombo which visits rich cultural, archaeological and cultural treasures such as the ancient city of Anuradhapura, the Sigiriya rock fortress and Dambulla, Asia’s most impressive cave temples from $2688* per person twin share.
Travellers can also experience Nepal and Bhutan with new small group adventures including the 14-day Journey through Nepal & Bhutan from $5129* per person twin share, or get the adrenalin pumping on new adventure tours such as the 13-day Nepal: Everest Teahouse Trails which treks through the Himalayas staying in family-run teahouses from $1509* per person twin share.
Three new Indian River cruises have been introduced, some of which take in the World Heritage-listed Sundarbans – the world’s largest mangrove forest belt and home to the elusive Bengal tiger – including the 3-night Sundarbans Wildlife Cruise from $971* per person twin share.
Tempo has also introduced new group rail tours which lets travellers experience the many facets of the subcontinent while staying in splendid wheeled accommodation.
For example, spend eight days exploring pristine national parks, ancient religious sites and historic cities such as Varanasi and Delhi on one of India’s finest trains, the Royal Rajasthan on Wheels from $5468* per person twin share.
Fascinating new independent packages include the 10-day Royal North by Vintage Car which explores the sights from Delhi to Udaipur via vintage car and stays in heritage boutique hotels; the 4-day Ayurvedic & Yoga Regeneration package in Kochi; the 4-day Goa Cooking School; and the 3-day Surfing Safari – Arugam Bay.
