Cruising the Galapagos, catching a Vistadome train to Machu Picchu, exploring the Amazon and living like a local in the Sacred Valley are just a few of the adventurous ‘Insider Experiences’ that have ensured a solid first year for Travelmarvel in South America.
Building on its early success, and in anticipation of increased demand for its premium value product in 2014, Travelmarvel has brought forward the launch of its 2014 South America brochure.
As well as the four core Travelmarvel South America itineraries running from April to October, new for 2014 are increased departures, an extended itinerary and an ‘Earlybird Special’ deal.
The new three night Colca Canyon & Arequipa extended itinerary includes panoramic views of the world’s deepest canyon; the chance to see the legendary Andean Condor; and a tour to the historic World-Heritage-listed town of Arequipa. It also includes the chance to explore Peru’s capital Lima, as well as enjoying a farewell dinner in ancient ruins, overlooking a pyramid.
This new extension is an addition to the lead in tour, the popular 20 day Highlights of South America Adventure, which starts at $7,995 per person twin share and includes 30 meals, all internal flights, 19 nights in premium, central accommodation (including a night at the stylish Sol y Luna in Sacred Valley), Vistadome train to Machu Picchu, tipping and airport transfers.
The itinerary starts in Buenos Aires and visits Iguassu Falls, Rio de Janeiro, Santiago, Lima, Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Cusco and Lake Titicaca before departing from Lima.
Earlybird Specials featured in the new brochure comprise a companion Fly Free deal, including taxes, worth up to $2,600 per couple, or for solo travellers a $1,300 air credit, available on every itinerary booked with deposits paid by 31 August 2013.
APT General Manager Marketing, Debra Fox said part of the appeal of Travelmarvel’s South America itineraries is that they cover all of the highlights of this culturally and naturally diverse continent, “South America is full of secrets. From ancient civilisations to fascinating cultures, isolated environments and diverse wildlife.
“Our escorted tours offer guests the chance to explore these secrets at their leisure, safe in the knowledge that a majority of the extra costs are included in the price,” she said.
All tour prices include hand-picked central accommodation, ‘Insider Experiences’ sightseeing tours, most meals, services of a Travelmarvel Tour Director and expert local guides, all flights within South America, tipping and airport transfers.
Travelmarvel’s ‘Insider Experiences’ include a Spanish Class at Café Tortini, cruising Lake Titicaca, meeting the locals of the Sacred Valley, lunch at Valparaiso, a UNESCO heritage listed port town near Santiago and dinner and a caipirinha at the infamous Porcao Rio’s in Rio de Janeiro.
Billed as highlights are Galapagos Islands cruising (a stylish four night catamaran cruise where you can disembark each day to encounter an array of indigenous wildlife) and Amazon cruising (canoe on the lakes, fish for piranhas, see pink dolphins and visit local villages during an intimate three-night aboard the boutique ship, the Delfin II).
