Leading youth travel brand Topdeck has launched its 2013/14 Africa brochure months earlier than its last program due to strong demand.
The brochure features 17 trips ranging from seven to 58 days which include wildlife spotting in the Maasai Mara, climbing the world’s tallest sand dunes in the Namib Desert, chilling on the beaches of Zanzibar and gorilla trekking in Uganda.
Two new trips, the 36 or 44-day Rivers Lakes & Mountains and the 56-day Grand African Adventure have been added. A 5% early payment option applies to all trips booked and paid in full six months in advance.
“We have released our 2013/14 brochure months earlier than our first program due to strong demand,” Topdeck director of sales Ben Ittensohn said.
“Topdeck is the only youth operator in Africa and we’ve had a tremendous response since our launch in January this year. All of our passengers are aged between 18 and 39 and have the same aim – enjoying the trip of a lifetime with like-minded travellers.
“We have filled a gap in the youth travel market in Africa and this year added two new trips to the program to further cater for that demand.”
Each trip features ‘Totally Topdeck’ included experiences such as a safari excursion in the Maasai Mara, a visit to the tropical beaches of Zanzibar, a ‘mokoro’ (dug-out canoe) excursion in the Okavango Delta and entry to Kruger National Park and Victoria Falls.
The new Rivers Lakes & Mountains travels from Johannesburg to Nairobi with highlights including a Kruger National Park safari, a cruise in Chobe National Park, Victoria Falls and optional gorilla and chimp treks from $4160* per person for the 44-day itinerary. The 36-day itinerary travels from Livingstone to Nairobi from $3625*.
Topdeck has also introduced the new 56-day Grand African Adventure travelling from Cape Town to Nairobi from $5292* which includes Namib Naukluft Park, a night in Cheetah Park, a safari in Etosha National Park, a cultural walk in the Kalahari, Victoria Falls, Lake Malawi and optional gorilla trekking.
An additional US$560 permit applies to both itineraries for those wishing to take part in gorilla and chimp trekking excursions.
Other trips include the 14-day Gorilla Encounter through Uganda and Kenya which features an optional gorilla trek to Kampala and flamingo spotting in Lake Nakuru National Park from $1641* (plus US$560 permit for those wishing to do the trek); and the 22-day Zanzibar, Victoria Falls & Kruger which features three nights on the magical ‘Spice Island’ of Zanzibar from $2268*.
All trips feature small group sizes of no more than 24 people (average of 16) and travel overland in state of the art, fully equipped safari trucks which include lockers, power points and a freezer.
Accommodation is a combination of hotels, hostels and campsites staying in spacious two-person dome tents with thick foam mattresses. Most meals are included in each trip.
Other discounts are available on Topdeck’s Africa program including a 5% past passenger saving.
