Spanish horses, Indian palaces and Namibian sand dunes are just a few of the new experiences featured in Rail Plus’ latest Great Rail Journeys brochure, now being distributed to travel agents across Australia.
The 2013 program features the world’s most celebrated rail trips, with tracks covering Europe, Asia, North and South America, Africa, the Middle East, India, New Zealand and Australia.
Along with icons experiences such as Venice Simplon-Orient Express, Golden Eagle Trans Siberian and The Royal Scotsman, agents will find a selection of lesser-known but equally memorable voyages, including the romantic Danube Express and the exotic Journey through Central Asia: The Three ‘Stans.
In addition, the latest brochure features four new journeys:
Al Andalus – a six-day luxury journey through Southern Spain exploring Andalusian art, cuisine and culture, including Berber palaces, dancing horses and the legendary flamenco.
The Indian Maharaja – an unforgettable eight-day voyage between Mumbai and Delhi offering excursions to Udaipur’s spectacular City Palace, the Amber Fort in Jaipur and the spectacular Taj Mahal in Agra, as well as a jungle safari in Sawai Madhopur.
Shongololo Express – a beautiful Heritage Train that treks across southern Africa carrying its own air-conditioned mini buses and professional tour guides; four unique itineraries traverse South Africa, Lesotho, Swaziland, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Zambia.
The Sunlander – one of Australia’s great rail adventures follows Queensland’s stunning coast as it travels from Brisbane to the Tropical North.
Rail Plus National Sales & Marketing Manager Greg McCallum says the new brochure also provides details on new itineraries being offered in 2013 by some of the program’s most popular trains.
“Rocky Mountaineer, for instance, now travels south to Seattle several times each year, while the Venice Simplon Orient Express is set to visit Scandinavia,” McCallum says.
To help travel agents understand the unique features of each journey, Rail Plus is now offering more detailed information on each itinerary, as well as additional images of train interiors.
“To mark the release of the 2013 program, we have also introduced a dedicated phone line * for Great Train Journeys, making it easier than ever for consultants to speak to our experts and secure seats on some of the world’s most exclusive rail adventures.”
