GREAT PRICES FOR EGYPT
THE cost of a holiday in Egypt in 2012 will offer the best value for money for many years, according to Fiona Orton, product director at African specialist Bench International.
She said that really competitive prices for the year ahead were due in part to the political situation but also because of increased competition among operators in Egypt to combat decreasing visitor numbers due to the European financial crisis.
Ms Orton added that attractive prices from competing destinations, like Jordan and the Gulf States were also part of the mix.
In the Egypt brochure just released by Bench there is a wider choice of Nile River cruise vessels and new experiences in Jordan and Morocco.
It offers a choice of eight different itineraries involving cruising on the Nile and a choice of six different vessels, including the Amarco II with 35 all-suite cabins and the two-masted Rihana Dahabiya, a traditional river sailing boat offering personalised service to just 10 de luxe cabins.
New itineraries in Jordan are the Historical Jordan tour of Jerash, Madaba, Mt Nero, Petra, the Dead Sea and Amman, plus an 11-night package combining the best of Egypt and Jordan.
Ms Orton said that Bench’s addition of Morocco last year had been very well received and prompted the addition of three new itineraries including one encompassing the Imperial cities, another following the roads of the caravans and a three-day camping trip in the Sahara desert.
