African Wildlife Safaris’ (AWS) has released its Africa 2014 brochure, reaffirming the popularity of Africa as a destination for travellers who want high quality adventure and wildlife experiences.
The specialist wholesaler has published its biggest ever brochure, with 148 pages of high end African game lodges, safari camps, hotels and beach resorts, complemented by unique tours, cruises and treks.
As Australia’s leading wholesaler for high end, tailor made safaris and wilderness adventures AWS occupies a unique position in the Australian travel market. “There’s a good reason why we will be celebrating our 30th anniversary in 2015. It’s the combination of the best product in each location, exceptional personal service to travel agents and customers, and our vastly experienced team of Africa specialists,” said AWS Managing Director Steve Cameron.
AWS founders Steve and Sara Cameron have created a very special small group tour to celebrate the company’s 30th anniversary. The ‘Wild About Africa’ tour offers 18 days of the best wildlife destinations in Kenya and departs on 10 September 2014. The tour features hand-picked boutique accommodation and exciting wildlife experiences. With only 12 places available, this one-off tour will sell out quickly. We urge any interested agents or customers to contact us for the full itinerary and to make a booking.
Other exciting additions to the 2014 brochure include more tented camps and luxury lodges across east and south Africa, and in particular in the Okavango, the Serengeti and the Masai Mara. The intimate and small luxury lodge market poses a unique problem for AWS in that these properties book out very quickly. “We will only add carefully selected properties to our portfolio, and it’s a very positive sign that the list of luxury properties we offer is growing, driven by increasing demand for this style of accommodation,” Steve Cameron added.
For travellers wanting an unforgettable gorilla experience AWS now offers new lodges for treks in Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The combination of sustainable tourism lodges and trekking to see the gorillas draws adventurous travellers from all over the world to this area. With only 72 permits available each day, demand for gorilla treks is very high and advance booking is essential. AWS offers lodges and luxury camps in this remote area of Uganda as part of the 3 or 4 day ‘Uganda Gorillas’ packages.
A new adventure in Ethiopia, the “Tribes of the South” tour, takes travellers away from the well-known tourist areas to visit tribal people in their villages the Omo Valley in the south of the country. This amazing cultural expedition offers travellers a unique and privileged experience to see tribal people and experience lifestyles unaffected by western culture. Details and prices for this tour can be found in the Ethiopia section of the 2014 Africa brochure.
Aside from the many attractions of East and South Africa, AWS also offers an extensive selection of quality accommodation and activities in Morocco, Madagascar and Mauritius. Our Africa 2014 brochure offers a range of sample itineraries however our consultants have the knowledge and experience to design the perfect itinerary for every traveller.
As always, AWS recommends early booking, especially for its lodges and safari products as these boutique properties only cater for a small number of guests and can book out very quickly.
