APT steps up the Tassie experiences
APT has enhanced passenger experiences in its new 2011-2012 Tasmania brochure with the highly-acclaimed gallery, MONA (Museum of Old and New Art) at Moorilla Winery near Hobart as well as ‘Meet the Maker’ tours of a distillery, cheesery and oyster farm.
APT encapsulates all the fabulous scenery and food, as well as keeping pace with what’s new in Tasmania through our Freedom of Choice options, according to APT General Manager, Debra Fox.
“Our Tassie product is very solid in the market because we have access to the renowned historic sites, World Heritage parks, stunning nature walks, excellent food, premium quality accommodation, luxury coaches, all-important tour director and flexibility through our no-extra-cost dining and local tour options,” said Ms Fox.
APT has made just minor changes to its six escorted coach tours (ranging from four to 12 days) of Tasmania. Passengers will now spend three nights at the Hotel Grand Chancellor Hobart in guaranteed Harbour View rooms, where they can enjoy an exclusive Seafood Dinner night in Hobart at the Drunken Admiral and for the Dine Around Dinner night in Hobart, APT has added Montgomery’s Hotel as a new choice. Montgomery’s is a well-known local hotel where travellers can drink and dine with the locals in a pub “counter tea” type experience.
Among the highlights are visits to Cradle Mountain (stay at Cradle Mountain Lodge), Lake St Clair, Freycinet National Park (Freycinet Lodge), two nights in guaranteed Harbour View room at Strahan, the must-stay Hotel Grand Chancellor in Launceston, Tall Timbers Smithton, Woolmers Estate, the National Rose Garden, Eastcoast Natureworld, Salamanca Market and a cruise along the World Heritage-listed Gordon River.
APT has a range of Superdeal offers in the brochure, including long-range booking discounts of five to 10 per cent, a $450 saving per couple for bookings made before 31 July 2011, red date special savings of up to $150 a person and 50 per cent off the single traveller supplement on some departures.
The comprehensive 12-day Royal Tasman Premier Escorted tour is the lead-in package, priced from $4695 per person twin share which includes touring, cruises, 21 meals, accommodation and entrance fees. With the pre-July 31 booking deal, the price is from $4470.
